Every year Pattaya, the famous Thai resort, hosts a music festival that lasts three days, featuring local and international artists. The Pattaya Music Festival 2009 gets underway on March 20th to March 22nd. The idea is to encourage everyone to have a good time and forget the recession for a while.

The music festival of Pattaya is becoming extremely popular, both among the locals and the tourists, and includes a combination of music from Thailand and Asia, featuring more western sounds as well. Although it was postponed in 2008, the festival is again on this year, promising to become a regular annual event. The municipality of Pattaya decided to organize and establish this music event so as to give an additional reason to the visitors to enjoy the renowned resort and to the locals to beat the overall economy blues.

The Pattaya Music Festival 2009 features more than music; there are great amounts of tasty food and drinks, a craft market that reflects the tradition of the region and amazing fireworks that signal the end of the festival. The festival is part of a nationwide campaign, launched last year; its main theme is ‘Amazing Thailand, Amazing Value’ and it is organized and supported by the Thai Tourism Organization. The campaign seeks at the attraction of additional tourists and the promotion of Pattaya and Thailand to the Western market. Thailand’s ambition is to host and deliver quality and great value for money events to the international and local visitors and tourists.

The Pattaya Music Festival 2009 is an event that will definitely lighten the mood of all the attendants and will enrich their vacation time; Pattaya is a famous tourist destination, known for the wild nightlife. Now it has the chance to become a music and artistic heaven, extending its appeal significantly.

The Festival is supported by numerous local and international companies and music corporate groups; among them are GMM and the Korean Foundation for International exchange. The Korean SM Entertainment, the Chinese Ocean Butterfly, the Malaysian HALO Music and the Taiwanese Avex will also support the event. Thai officials also back and support the efforts as much as possible, foreseeing a great opportunity for Thai tourism and Pattaya.

There are many international artists who will participate to the Pattaya Music Festival 2009; more than hundred musicians are expected in Pattaya. It is an unrivalled chance to enjoy three days of great music; listening and dancing to Eastern and Western rhythms and tones. Among the artists who will appear are the Australian Group Cirque du Freak, Rynn Lim who represents Malaysia, Kenny Kwan from Hong Kong and Kym Jin from China.
Guests can choose the music they prefer, as there is something for everyone. Whether they are into RnB or hip Hop, or Pop music, the festival will feature it all. There will be three main music stages which will be situated at the Bali pier, at down town Pattaya and Pattaya Soi four. The artists of the Pattaya Music Festival 2009 will be rotating between these stages, allowing everyone to enjoy the music.
